PAPAYA's Story

Papaya, aka ‘Pya’ for short, has spent the last year in a dog shelter. Observation has taught us that this gal was never socialized in her younger years … she had absolutely no idea how to interact with other dogs until recently, is still trying to figure out what to do with toys, is not sure what to do off leash in a fenced yard, and is skeptical of human intentions in general. However since moving into a foster home, her horizons are broadening, her anxiety is lessening, her curiosity is compelling and she is actually seeking out human and canine companionship although slow intros are a must and toddlers are terrifying! Papaya is looking for a home where she can continue growing … someone wanting to go for walks or hikes would be ideal. She would be content as an only dog but absolutely can be part of a pack who will give her time to adjust. She is crate trained and housebroken. Lab mix, FS, 40lbs. $200

Almost 2 yrs old (as of April 2026)

Children 12+

If you would like to meet PAPAYA please complete an application for adoption, copy and paste this link into your browser

https://fs17.formsite.com/adoptionscc/form1/
Any vaccinations/boosters due after adoption is finalized will be the new owner's responsibility.
