Papa Roach's Story

Papa Roach ("Roach") is a friendly and intelligent Husky/Shepherd cross originally from Pukatawagan, Manitoba, who was transferred into care from Save a Dog Network and is now looking for his forever home. This social and affectionate boy loves being around people and is eager to please, making him a wonderful companion for an active household. Roach already has a solid training foundation--he knows basic commands like sit, wait, and come, and responds well to his name--showing just how smart and trainable he is. With his energetic nature and loving personality, he'll thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise, continued training, and lots of companionship, and in return, he'll offer loyalty, fun, and plenty of affection.

D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre's Adoption Policy
Connecting the right pets with the right families If you come to D'Arcy's A.R.C. to adopt a pet, you will be asked many questions to ensure that the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home and that you are prepared for the responsibilities and commitment of pet ownership. This discussion can go several ways. We may agree that the pet you are considering is an excellent match for your lifestyle, and lucky to have met you. We may suggest that you select a pet more suited to the home environment you will provide, or we may determine that you cannot take on the responsibilities and commitment of pet ownership at this time. Suppose you want to adopt a special needs pet with a physical condition or behavioural issues requiring extra care. In that case, we will ask that you fill out an application form. Our shelter manager will review this application form to ensure that you are aware of the cat's needs and the potential costs involved and can provide a suitable home. Potential adopters must provide a valid photo I.D. If you are leasing or renting a property for which the pet will call home, a copy of your leasing agreement that outlines that your home is pet-friendly is required. A letter or email signed by the landlord is also acceptable. All of our pets are spayed & neutered. Any kittens or puppies too young for the procedure at the time of adoption will have their spay/neuter paid for at our expense at our chosen veterinary clinic when they reach six months of age. Our cats all receive FVRCP vaccines, while all dogs receive DA2PP and Rabies. The adopter is responsible and must pay for any other medical treatments required after the adoption process. All adopted pets come with a care package, trial pet insurance, and a valid City of Winnipeg pet license for one year.
