PANEER - A44203608Intake Type: StrayDog Meets:Paneer and Makhani -- https://youtu.be/fL6G8UTNjA4Tandoori and Paneer -- https://youtu.be/jLRr0Db6E2AMedical Observation: (4/28) Vet Check -- On walk through patient was sniffing something in kennel and only lifted head when called out to him. Walked over to kennel door with loose body language and lightly wagging tail, pupils remained normal size (not dilated) and leaned into gate for some butt scratches. No hard barking, no jumping on kennel door or shying away from interaction. Trazodone not indicated at this time, but recommend continuing to monitor behavior.(4/25) Vet Check -- Patient is underweight, but otherwise appears healthy on examination. Patient's fever resolved (Fever at intake of 104.4)- suspect due to excitement. Dirty coat. Healed pressure sores over bony prominences. Behavior Observation: (4/26) Approached the front of the kennel with a slightly tense body, ears back, tail down. Slightly hesitant of the leash but would allow petting of the face and neck, eventually allowed leashing. Pulls moderate on leash. Urinates and defecates outside. Approaches handler with slightly tense body, accepts petting but does not solicit. Easily goes back into kennel.(4/25) Vet Staff -- Very friendly but head shy(4/25) Social at front of kennel when first approached, but retreated slightly when door was opened. When leash was presented, dog then went back to bed and laid down, adverting eye contact. While laying down, dog was able to be looped with sliplead but showed no interest in standing up or exiting kennel. Upon presenting treats, dog then eagerly stood up and came forward to both take treats from hand and eat ones that had been dropped. Able to continue to exit with lured treats but then became overwhelmed when other dogs from kennels began barking. Dog was then allowed to retreat back into kennel, treats dropped, and leash removed with no issues. This animal is currently available through ACCT Philly's Adoptions Programs.
