Pancake's Story

Looking for a loving companion? Meet Pancake, a charming young pup who's come a long way! She and her mom, Shirley, were rescued from challenging conditions when Pancake was just 3 weeks old. Now, Pancake is flourishing in her temporary NJ foster home and is ready to find her own family.

Pancake is about a year old, and weighs 46 pounds. She has long legs, a skinny body, and amazing ears. She might have some Australian kelpie and/or german shepherd in her mix. She's very smart, affectionate and playful. She already knows several basic commands such as sit, no, stay, stop and she comes when called. She sleeps through the night in her crate and she is house broken (but you do need to watch for her clues). She is also leash trained and does great on car rides.

She is currently being fostered with other dogs and is getting along really well with them. She sits patiently beside them for her treats. She also likes to play with them - she is submissive but sometimes will play roughly. She also loves playing fetch and tug of war with her fosters and she loves balls and squeaky toys. And she's never said no to some zoomies in the yard. She's an athletic girl and might do well with agility training.

When she first meets strangers she will initially bark but it's not aggressive at all...she's all bark and no bite. She needs a little time to feel comfortable, but once she does, she'll be your loyal, cuddly little shadow. The best home for Pancake will be an active person/family that likes to take walks or hikes and play in the yard. Older kids would be best due to her energy.

- Personality: smart, affectionate, playful, athletic, not a barker, good in car
- Good with: people (older kids), and dogs. Has not been cat tested yet.
- Training: crate trained, house trained, leash trained, knows some basic commands - sit, no, stay, stop, come (and comes when called)
- Estimated date of birth: August 2024
- Weight: 46 pounds
- Medical: vetted, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped
- Location: Currently with a foster in NJ, and once you are approved to adopt, is available for a meet and greet.

To view more videos of Pancake, check out her YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmB5-2QLmiJPTGN2agKiJp-WyI3fAYfea

If you have any questions please email: friendsforlifeanimalrescue@gmail.com

To apply to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/210286667669167

We always need fosters.
