Meet Pamela<br/><br/>Pamela is a wonderful 1-year-old dachshund miniature long haired mix who was rescued in Houston, Texas. Her story began when she was found abandoned in an apartment and were being cared for by a Good Samaritan in the same complex.<br/><br/>The Good Samaritan did everything she could, but she needed more help than she could provide. She wasn’t comfortable around other pets, wouldn’t walk on a leash, and wouldn’t allow anyone to pick her up. That’s when a local rescue stepped in and gave her the time and space they needed to decompress and feel safe.<br/><br/>After getting properly vetted and settling into foster care, she has completely transformed—and now a little whirlwind of fun!<br/><br/>Pamela has made incredible progress. She has figured out a doggy-door, now enjoys snuggling with bigger dogs and will cuddle on a couch on her own! Slowly she is getting trust from the men in the family, and she enjoys her freedom, confidence and starting to pick up favorite toys.<br/><br/>But underneath all that shyness is a girl who absolutely loves affection. If you could spend all day with Pamela curled up in your lap, she would consider that the BEST day ever. <br/><br/>At around 10 pounds, Pamela is a great size for an apartment, smaller home, or a family with a modest yard. She feels happiest and most secure in her own kennel and would enjoy having a canine companion around her size or smaller.<br/>Pamela has come such a long way from the scared little dog who wouldn’t let anyone near her. She’s learning to trust, learning to play, and discovering just how wonderful life can be.<br/><br/>Now all she needs is a forever family willing to continue showing her that she is safe, loved, and finally home.
