Padme's Story

Meet Padme, a strikingly beautiful ~1 year old spayed female mixed breed pup, weighing about 30 lbs! We are unsure of her breed mix, but we suspect she may have some mountain cur in her. Her brindle coloring makes it look like she has tiger stripes! Photos really don't do this pretty girl justice. <br/><br/>Padme is a shy, timid girl who is a little unsure of new people, but she warms up quickly once she knows you are safe. Once she comes out of her shell, she is a total sweetheart! She bonds closely with her people and will be your ultimate BFF. She is a gentle, submissive girl and truly does not have a mean bone in her body. <br/><br/>Padme LOVES other dogs of all sizes. We think she would do best in a home with a confident doggo sibling(s) to keep her company and show her the ropes. She has not been cat tested, but we feel she would probably be ok with cats. She loves kids, but due to her timid nature, we recommend older or dog savvy kids who know to respect a dog's space.<br/><br/>From Padme's current foster:<br/><br/>"Padme is the sweetest most loving gentle girl once she comes out of her shell. She loves to play with other dogs and finds her confidence in them. She is a little bit afraid of the process of putting on and removing walking gear (it's a work in progress), but once she is leashed she walks in PERFECT HEEL. She is very gentle taking treats from hands". <br/><br/>She is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents first few days while adjusting to a new home/routine), and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today!<br/><br/>Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt<br/><br/>Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!

The applicant MUST be willing to meet the dog at the foster's location. 1) You must fill out an application. Applications can take 2-5 days to complete, Please go on our website to submit an application: https://www.pawsrescueleague.org/adoptable-dogs.html YOUR INQUIRY WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNLESS AN APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED 2) A home visit will be scheduled with with the potential adopter, either in person or over a virtual video call. Once you have had your home visit, you will receive an email notifying you of our decision. 3) If approved a meet and greet will be arranged with you, and the dog and the foster parent. So you and your family/fur members can meet the dog and make sure everyone gets along. 4) We send adopters the adoption contract prior to the meet and greet so you have a chance to read over the adoption contract. Adopters must sign the contract before taking the dog home with them. You have 48 hours after meeting the dog to decide to adopt or not to adopt. - We try not to hold up dogs for too long and do not want to miss out on a good home for them. 5) If you choose to adopt, you will need to sign before picking the dog up, or bringing the dog home. We ask for a "I am furever home" picture to post to our website after each dog has been adopted! ** We are NOT adopting to MA or ME residents at this time! Thank you!

Our Mission
Working in rescue for over a decade, we were tired of only seeing puppies, young, and pre vetted dogs getting saved. While the dog in the back with the leg that needs amputation gets passed by. We want to make a difference by saving the dogs who actually need to be saved. Most of these dogs won't get out unless WE rescue th...
