Paddington *IN FOSTER*'s Story

Thank you for your interest in Paddington! He is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please email our foster coordinator Kris, at kris.gurka@foothillsanimal.org.

Meet handsome Paddington ("Paddy")!

Paddy’s journey began on the streets, where he survived for an unknown amount of time before accidentally ending up in a neighborhood feral cat trap. After being rescued, the cat colony caretaker (now his devoted foster) searched for his owners for several weeks, but no one ever came forward. Shy and timid at first, Paddy bolted after a few days and, in a twist that feels very him, was safely trapped overnight a second time... in the same cat trap!

Since then, Paddy has been blossoming in foster care. He’s been building his confidence, learning how to socialize, mastering leash walking, and discovering just how wonderful indoor life can be. He has a natural inclination toward good manners. He takes treats gently, is patient with small children, and gets along beautifully with cats (which feels fitting, given his beginnings!).
Paddy is cautious around other dogs and will need slow, thoughtful introductions, ideally with calm and mellow canine companions. With time and patience, he may continue to grow in this area.

What Paddy loves most are short park walks, car rides, cozy naps beside his humans, sleeping curled up in the crook of your arm, belly rubs, and (his absolute favorite) Puppy Patties from In-N-Out. He is eager to please and responds best to positive reinforcement and gentle guidance.

Paddy would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. He does experience some separation anxiety and may howl or bark when left alone, so a family willing to continue supporting him with reassurance and consistency will help him shine.

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who’s ready to leave his street days behind and soak up the good life, Paddington might just be your perfect match.
