Paci’s FAQs

What is Mastiffs and More Rescue Tx’s adoption process?

Mastiffs and More Rescue is a foster based organization, as such, we do not have one set location where you can visit all of our available dogs. If you are interested in meeting one of our adoptable animals, please contact us. You can fill out an application online at https://www.mastiffsandmorerescue.com/. To adopt one of our wonderful fosters, there is an easy process to follow. We strive to ensure that our pups leave us to homes that will love them forever. We have a screening process for all potential adopters similar to many other rescues. Our adoption process involves all adopters submitting a formal application, allowing a representative to perform a home visit to ensure the best fit between foster and adoptive home, and a veterinarian reference/records confirming all current pets in your home are up-to-date on their vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. </p> You must be 21 years of age and have identification showing your current address. If you rent, we require proof of pet deposit (if any) and landlord approval. All adults in the household must also consent to the adoption. Once the foster dog and adopter have met, we require an adoption contract to be signed and the appropriate adoption donation paid.to finalize the process and make a Mastiffs and More dog the newest member of your family! Unless specifically stated on the dog's profile, Mastiffs and More Rescue does not adopt to households with children under the age of seven. This is for the safety of everyone. Big dogs can be a bit rough on little people since they don't really understand how big they are! Some of our fosters may require a breed experienced home; this doesn't mean your home isn't a great place for one of our dogs; just that some of our dogs are a little more challenging than our other easier-going dogs. Our standard adoption fees are $350 for < 1 year old, $300 for 1 - 6 years old, $250 for 6+ years old. These fees help cover the expenses of getting these XXL dogs fully vaccinated, altered and any health-related issues resolved. Big dogs come with big vet bills, unfortunately, and the adoption donations pay for a fraction of the actual expenses incurred. We also have a Seniors for Seniors program, with reduced or no cost adoption donations for our senior dogs to enable them to find their retirement homes.
