Oweta's Story

Oweta is an incredibly special girl with a heart full of love! After being removed from an overcrowded home in rural New Mexico, she's finally discovering what it means to feel safe, cared for, and truly loved—and she's embracing it with everything she has.

Since being rescued, Oweta has formed a deep bond with her foster mom and has quickly learned that being loved and belly rubs are the best things in the world! She absolutely lights up with affection and is becoming more confident every day.

Oweta is still learning to trust humans and will need a family who can continue her socialization in a kind, patient, and gentle way. She's already shown how much she wants connection— she's being loved for the first time and can't get enough! Her loyalty is one of her most beautiful traits; she truly wants to be someone's devoted companion, to be accepted and loved.

Oweta is very food motivated, which is a wonderful opportunity for continued training. This will be especially helpful as she keeps improving her potty training and begins learning leash skills. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and a few tasty rewards, she's eager to keep making progress.

Oweta would thrive in a home that can offer:

• Patience as she continues building confidence

• Positive, reward-based training (she's very food motivated!)

• Gentle socialization to help her feel safe with new people and experiences

• Plenty of love, affection, and companionship

In return, you'll get a deeply loyal, sweet, and loving companion who will stay by your side and grow more amazing with each passing day.

Oweta has already come so far—now she just needs her forever family to help her continue her journey.

LOLA'S Rescue (Labs and Other Large Angels)'s Adoption Policy
Adopting an animal through L.O.L.A.'S Rescue means saving a life. We are concentrated on adopting animals at risk of euthanasia from High Kill Shelters and over population situations. We are dedicated to matching the right pet with the right home. The added advantage to being a foster concentrated organization is that we get to spend extra time with our animals to learn their special needs, we will always be 100% honest with you about the animal you are thinking of adopting, we will always try and match you with the pet that best fits your needs. Please understand that even though we do our best to asses every animal, changing situations can mean changing behaviors. The first step to adopting a animal is to let us know more about you and what you are looking for. Please visit our website at www.lolasrescue.com or email us at
