Outlaw's Story

Meet Outlaw!

Dont let the name fool youOutlaw may sound like a renegade, but this handsome chocolate Lab is really just a happy-go-lucky sidekick looking for a family to call his own.

At 7 years old and 77 pounds, Outlaw is a neutered chocolate Labrador Retriever with a heart as big as his wagging tail. In fact, he suffers from a serious case of wiggle butt syndrome - his tail is almost always in motion, and his joyful personality is impossible to miss. He loves being around his people and will happily follow you from room to room before settling down at your feet or claiming a spot on the couch nearby.

Outlaw is housebroken, crate trained, and sleeps quietly in his crate each night. He rides well in the car and enjoys tagging along on adventures. Hes also a smart boy who knows several commands, including sit, down, shake, and off, and hes currently working on mastering stay.

True to his name, Outlaw likes to keep an eye on everything around him. Hes very alert and aware of his surroundings, and absolutely nothing slips past him. He also has a strong prey drive, which means a secure fenced yard is a must and the bigger, the better! He loves having room to stretch his legs and explore. Because of his strength and enthusiasm, he'll need continued work on his leash manners, as he can be quite the puller when something catches his attention.

Outlaw gets along wonderfully with the two Labs in his foster home and would enjoy having canine companions. However, cats are a definite no for this boy. He would also do best in a home with older children who can comfortably handle his size and energy.

Like any true outlaw, he has one mischievous habit: counter surfing. His foster dad has learned the hard way that leaving food unattended is an invitation for Outlaw to investigate! Keeping countertops clear will be important in his new home.

Outlaw has a history of seizures, but they are currently being successfully managed with medication. His future family should be comfortable continuing his medication routine and partnering with their veterinarian to keep him feeling his best.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you laughing, accompany you on adventures, and shower you with unconditional love, Outlaw may be the perfect addition to your pack.

Outlaw is currently being fostered in Fishers, Indiana and is ready to ride off into the sunset with his forever family.

*********************
Adopting a Lab can be a wonderful experience. Your new dog will need lots of love, adequate exercise and attention. Keep in mind that dog ownership may include additional costs for training, grooming, and health care beyond annual vaccines and monthly preventatives. Its a lifetime commitment!
