Otto's Story

Cat-friendly

Looking for the very bestest boy?

Here I am, it's me, Otto!

I am a 9-year-old male Newfoundland. I came into rescue because I was abandoned outside and was in rough shape. With the help of some human friends, I got a spa day , and look at me now

I am super chill and calm . I am great with other dogs and cats. I am terrific with kids, which is in character for my Newfie breed. I love, love, love to lay on the deck when the weather is nice I am relatively quiet, but I will bark when my dog family starts to bark. I stop, though, as soon as my foster parents say "no." I love belly rubs, ahhh, and my treats, yummm. And I'm in heaven if I can sleep in front of a fan

My foster mom has taken such good care of me. Due to my age, I need some simple daily care (maybe you can relate?) to be at my tip-top best. I have dry eye, so I need daily eye cleanings and twice-daily drops, which I am an angel for . I do just fine with stairs, though I have some joint issues, like every senior giant-breed dog. Foster mom has put me on a combination of joint supplements and fish oil, which makes me more comfortable. I might have low vision in the dark, so give me a nightlight and we're all good. I do have a mass on my lower palate, but don't worry... I can chew on my chews and l have no problems eating.

Because of my age, the vet recommends against neuter surgery - so I will come not neutered, but I don't have the energy to do anything like that anyway.
I really am the best and I look forward to meeting you!

Otto the Great

Otto is house-trained, vaccinated, and will come to you current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. His adoption fee is $175. If you love a big guy with some chill vibes, he's your man. Get approved to adopt so you can meet him.

Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org

Pawsitive Tails is dedicated to matching the needs and personality of our dogs with your family. We are not in a hurry to adopt out our dogs; we want to make sure the match is perfect for everyone. All of the dogs in our rescue live in foster homes with both the human and furry members of our families. Our adoption process begins with an application which can be found under the "adopt" tab on our website, www.pawsitivetailskc.org. Please complete the form in full; the questions we ask help us to fully understand what type of dog you are looking for, and to make sure you get the very best fit. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you do not include a vet phone number, a landlord phone number (if applicable), or 3 complete references, we cannot process your application. We will contact your Veterinarian, so please make sure to call them to release your vet history to our volunteer. &nbs
