Ottis's Story

Meet Ottis!

Ottis is a handsome 2 year old, 60 lb red and white coonhound mix who recently arrived in NJ and is truly the total package. This sweet boy is house trained, crate trained, and has wonderful manners in the home. He’s calm, affectionate, and loves being close to his people.

Ottis is a big fan of car rides, couch snuggles, and cozy evenings at home. He already knows “sit” and “stay,” and he’s eager to please. At night, he doesn’t even need to be crated — once everyone settles in, Ottis makes his little rounds checking out each open room before curling up in a small pet bed at your feet and sleeping peacefully until morning.

He’s the kind of dog who fits naturally into family life and brings a comforting, loving presence wherever he goes. Whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out on an adventure, Ottis will happily be right by your side.

To apply to adopt, go to www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application on your laptop or computer. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!

U.S. shelter and adoption estimates 2012

3,500—Number of animal shelters •

6-8 million—Number of cats and dogs entering shelters each year

25 percent—Percentage of purebred dogs in shelters •

3-4 million—Number cats and dogs adopted from shelters each year

2.7 million—Number of adoptable cats and dogs euthanized in shelters each year

25% of dogs in shelters are pure bred - that's 1 in 4!
