Otis's Story

Otis is probably one of the oddest-looking dogs we've had in a while. He has the freckled coloring of a Cattle Dog, the bushy tail of a Golden Retriever, and the short legs of a Basset or possibly Corgi. His bark kinda sounds like a Bassett but his coat is thicker like a Corgi's. Otis weighs right around 45 lbs and probably 25 lbs of that is his head! When you see him, you can't help but smile (and wonder how those short legs support his Lab-sized body and big ol head). While his exact breed-up make up is uncertain, there's nothing questionable about Otis' personality....this big fella is about as sweet as they come and is just a very well-mannered and friendly dog. Owner-surrendered to a shelter in Grayson County, we actually received Otis from a shelter in Ohio County. We're not sure why Otis lost his home but we're certainly glad he ended up with us! Otis might already be house-trained because he refuses to potty anywhere but on grass. And, because he gets so happy and excited when he hears and sees the children at the daycare near our shelter, it's possible he lived with children in his previous home. Otis is good on leash and is very affectionate. We think he'll bring a lot of joy to his adopter. To find out if this sweet guy would be a good fit for you and your household, just stop by the shelter and ask to meet him. Primary Color: Cream Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 42.4 Animal has been Neutered I am available for adoption at the Animal Care Society.
