Otis's Story

Meet Otis!

Positives: Otis is a sweet and affectionate husky mix who’s ready to find his forever partner in adventure. Like many huskies, he’s energetic, intelligent, and thrives when he’s active. Once he builds trust, he’s incredibly loving and loyal, forming a deep bond with his people. This active boy would be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys hiking, trail running, or exploring the great outdoors. Whether it’s spending the day in the mountains, relaxing by the river, or strolling through the neighborhood, Otis is happiest by your side. He has done well with other dogs and would be happy to share his home with a compatible canine companion. Otis is food-motivated, highly trainable, and walks well on leash, responding attentively to his handler. With his mix of athleticism and affection, he’s the kind of dog who will not only join you on your adventures but also curl up beside you when the day is done.
If you’re looking for a devoted partner who will match your love for the outdoors and your loyalty, Otis is ready to be that dog.

Things he needs support on: Otis is an awesome dog who loves to play but does have a rougher style. He also still has his puppy energy and can be a bit mouthy when he really gets into his play sessions. He will need an owner who can correct this and properly redirect him. He’s an active breed and will need mental and physical stimulation. He might need a refresher on potty training since he has been in a shelter environment. Otis has previously displayed some guarding over food and toys but has been doing much better. His recent foster and previous adopter didn’t see this with him.

Location: Langley, BC
Age: 1.5 years old
Size: 50lbs
Gender: Male
Vaccinations and spay/neuter: Vaccinations are UTD and he is neutered.
Potty trained: Yes but could use a refresher since he has been living in a shelter environment.
Crate trained: Yes
Kid friendly: Yes but he does jump up a bit when excited
Dog friendly: Yes
Cat friendly: No
Energy level: Medium
Drive: Unknown at this time but he seems a bit too interested in small animals like squirrels and rabbits.
