Otis's Story
Hi everybody, glad to meet you! My name is Otis, and while I am loving Club IEBR, I am really excited about finding my forever home. Let me tell you a little about myself so you can see if you would be the perfect family for me.

I came into IEBR by way of a shelter where my former family left me. They didn’t tell the shelter much about me or my time with them, and I haven’t told anyone a thing about my past. You see, I am frankly more interested in the future than I am in my past. I will tell you that I am about six years old (though I don’t act like it!) and in pretty good health. I hear my foster parents saying something about a green bean diet, but I have no idea what they are talking about. I think I am just perfect at 68 pounds! Okay, maybe I could stand to lose a couple pounds – I do want to be healthy as a get older. I refuse to eat green beans, though! I mostly just eat around them and move them around to look like I ate some. Pretty good trick!

Other than the full figure, I am a pretty healthy boy. I had a bit of infection in my ears, but with some cleaning and medicine that has cleared up nicely. I have a bit of a dry nose, so I have been getting some coconut oil on it. I am neutered and up to date will all of my vaccines, and tested heartworm negative. For some reason I wasn’t microchipped before, but we got that taken care of now, too. I have a very soft and healthy coat and haven’t shown any signs of allergies yet – like I said, I’m a healthy guy.

Okay, more about me. I have done pretty well with my foster bully brother and sister, and wouldn’t mind to have a friend in my new home. I probably wouldn’t pair well with one with a strong dominant personality, though. There are cats where I am staying now, and I perfectly happy ignoring them. One of them occasionally rubs up against me and I don’t mind. Honestly, though, I just don’t find them very interesting! I am very friendly and affectionate with people young and old, and I love to be around my foster parents. I get a little worried when they leave my sight, so I occasionally cry a bit. I just want to make sure they aren’t abandoning me! My favorite thing about people is that they rub my belly – it doesn’t take me long to flop over for them! I also know ‘sit’ and ‘down’ commands, and can shake or give high fives with either paw. An ambidextrous bully – I’m pretty impressive, I know!

I am pretty spunky for a big guy, but I do tire kinda quickly when I’m playing outside. I chase toys for a bit, but then like to just lay with them and protect them. I am crate trained and completely housebroken. No accidents from this guy! I also haven’t chewed on anything that I shouldn’t since being with my foster family. One thing that I don’t like is storms – those are the worst! I definitely like to be close to my people when it storms so they can keep me safe. Foster dad got me a thundershirt, and that seems to help a bit. I don’t chew when I’m anxious, I just cry and occasionally bark. That isn’t so bad, right?

Alright everyone, I know that my perfect family is out there, and I can’t wait to meet you! Fill out an application on IEBR’s website and hopefully we will get to meet soon!

If you are interested in Otis, please visit our website and fill out an application to adopt: www.ilenglishbulldogrescue.org

Otis' adoption fee is: $450.00

Visit us on Facebook: Visit us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IllinoisEnglishBulldogRescue
