Oso's Story

Age requirement 21<br/>Oso is in a foster home in Ft Worth TX<br/>Transport arranged through our rescue post adoption<br/><br/>We at Abby Road Rescue and sister rescue Furry Sidekick Rescue are honored to be working alongside Karen Perl, who has worked tirelessly to save dogs in need. While these dogs are not directly in our rescue care, we are courtesy posting on her behalf to help them find the loving homes they deserve. . <br/><br/>Application is required. This sweet boy ended up at the shelter due to no fault of his own. He is super sweet, loving, and calm. He was heartworm positive and sailed through heartworm treatment without any issues. He is now heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention. <br/><br/>This guy seems to have been trained, knows all his commands, and walks on the leash beautifully. We don’t know what the excuse was to get rid of him but we pulled him off the euthanasia list as he was out of time due to space. He is very inquisitive, smart, calm, and dog friendly. He gets along well with male and female dogs and with medium and large dogs. <br/><br/>He has not been tested with toy small dogs and has not been cat tested. He rides well in the car without any anxiety; he is crate trained and he is potty trained. He is up to date on all his shots. This poor sweet boy gets overlooked just because he is an all black doggie. He is a wonderful boy and so deserving of his own forever home. <br/><br/>His picture perfect home could be as a solo dog or with a doggie buddy or doggie buddies. He is not a dominant dog; he would enjoy a fenced yard to run and play but not so much being an apartment dog. He would be a great family dog with children; he could also potentially be with a couple or a single person as long as he is part of their day to day family life. Would this handsome boy be a wonderful fit for your forever home?<br/><br/>On behalf of Karen Perl, the adoption fee is $350. Transport can be arranged after the adoption is finalized. If you prefer to arrange your own transport, the adoption fee will remain the same. Thank you so much for your valuable support in helping these dogs find loving homes

Submitting your application – that's Step 1 Step 2: Group Text Introduction We’ll start a group text chat with the dog’s foster or rescuer. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get to know more about the dog. If you'd like, we can also set up a video meet-and-greet through our phones for a more personal connection. Step 3: Virtual Home Visit We'll schedule a Google Meet or FaceTime call to virtually tour your home. We'll need to see common living areas and the yard—no need to show bedrooms. Please have a piece of mail with your address visible during the call. After this step I will call your references. Step 4: Adoption Contract Once everything checks out, I’ll submit your application to the board along with my recommendation for approval. While the final decision is up to them, they typically go with my recommendation. Step 5: Final Details This step includes a conversation about ownership, adoption fees, any applicable deposits, and transport arrangements (if needed) could be 5-30 days depending on time frame.
