Oso's Story

Oso is hoping to find someone he can share a quiet life with... Our special guy here is a case of a really good dog not adjusting well to shelter life. Oso gets very overwhelmed with other dogs being reactive, he does not like excessive barking and will try his best to be louder than them when he is overwhelmed. When Oso is away from the shelter, he could not get a better review from our volunteers... They rate him as one of our best walkers with his reactivity being scored at 2 which to the volunteers mean practically non-existent.

Oso has met one or two very calm yet playful female dogs while here and he did amazing with them. He is incredibly toy motivated and usually picks a stuffie over high value treats, he is an absolute water bug who cannot get enough of the pool or hose. This guy really deserves a chance at a peaceful life, where he can be the dog that he shows our volunteers on trips out. This shelter just seems to be way too over stimulating and stressful for him...

Some back story on him is that he was found locked in a car with the windows rolled up on a day where the weather was over 100 in The Dalles. Him and the puppy he was with were busted out by animal control and seized for neglect, Oso was rushed to the vet already in the grasp of heat stroke and was temped at 106. After some TLC from the vet he was cleared and released to us where his owners ended up surrendering to avoid charges. Since that day Oso has been stuck here overstimulated and stressed out, he deserves a chance at peaceful sleep, a quiet morning, and waking up with people who love him...

Please help us get him out of the shelter system and into a home where people actually care about his wellbeing and will take him on adventures he never could have imagined!

Age: 2 year
Weight: 63lbs
Adoption fee: $250

Fill out an application at: https://www.columbiagorgehs.org/adopt.html

(All animals adopted out of CGHS are spayed/neutered, up to date on annual vaccines including rabies, and microchipped)
