Osito's Story
Meet Osito, a truly special boy with an incredible rescue story and an even brighter future. Osito came into rescue in January 2025 after being found as a tiny, sickly stray in Toppenish at just 5 weeks old. He was rushed to the emergency vet, where he had to spend the night due to severely swollen lymph nodes—but this little fighter pulled through.

Recently, Osito underwent surgery for OCD shoulder lesions in both shoulders, and he’s recovering well in his medical foster home—still full of love, tail wags, and his signature soft spirit.

This guy is a real trooper! Had a rough start in life but he is now living life to the fullest! We have been Osito’s foster mom and dad since October. We agreed to be his foster parents when we found out her was going to be needing a surgery and would need some special care to recover. Surgery is now complete and he has made a remarkable recover! Osito just turned 1 year old, he loves life and is such a pleasure to be around!

Osito considers everyone to be a part of his pack. He loves to run and play chase, and he can do it all pain-free now. He is a big advocate for ‘squeaky toys’, and loves his chew toys…especially the ones with places to hide the treats in. He is smart and loves his routine. Osito approaches everything with a sense of excitement and adventure. As part of his therapy, he is going on lots of walks, which he loves! He would be a great partner to walk, run or hike with.

Osito is all set for his forever home. He is housetrained, crate trained, leash trained and loads up into the vehicle on command. He stays in the vehicle until told to jump out. He has not shown any food, treat or toy aggression.
Osito does great with other dogs and has not shown any interest in the cat at the vet office. He would also be fine around children.

If you think Osito may be the one for you, please go to our website at www.wagstorichesanimalrescue.org and fill out an application to adopt. Please be sure to include a vet reference as regular vet care is important to us for the health of all our adopted dogs. With approval and a $295 adoption donation, he will be ready to accompany you on all of life’s many adventures! Osito is neutered, microchipped, fecal tested clean of internal parasites and up to date on all his vaccinations, including rabies.
