**Meet Oscar!**<br/><br/>Oscar is an approximately 4-year-old Pit Bull mix with a gentle heart and a loyal spirit. He made the journey from Mississippi with his best friend, Winston, and the two have been learning what life is like in busy Stamford together.<br/><br/>Oscar loves spending time out on our turf playing with his canine buddies and is working hard on his leash skills. While the sights and sounds of the city can still be a little overwhelming, he's gaining confidence every day. He's especially enjoying walks around Harbor Point with our volunteers and staff and is learning to look to his people for reassurance when he's feeling unsure.<br/><br/>When you first meet Oscar, he can be a bit shy. Give him a little time and patience, and you'll discover an incredibly affectionate companion who will stick to you like glue. Once you've earned his trust, he'll happily be your shadow and biggest fan.<br/><br/>Oscar is dog-friendly with proper introductions and would likely do well with a canine companion or as your one-and-only adventure buddy. We are currently unsure how he does with cats or young children, but we're happy to test him if needed.<br/><br/>Oscar is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment with our amazing veterinary partners at VCA Darien.
