Osa's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Osa's Story

Osa came to the foster in the middle of one of the worst winter storms in recent history but is named for our favorite tropical paradise and surf spot - the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica.

Osa's home burned down in early January, and he and his siblings needed emergency help from the community to place a number of newborn puppies. We have cared for Osa since he was about 7 weeks old. He is a sweet boy with a ton of puppy energy. Osa will do just about anything for a treat or piece of kibble and knows his basic commands including Sit, Down, and Come. This boy is excited to learn. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night. During the day, he may bark for a few minutes when he first goes in the crate for a nap but then falls asleep quickly. Osa loves a game of tug, sniffing for hidden treats, and has started coming over for cuddles more and more. He still has his puppy teeth so his nibbles can be sharper than you may think but each week he is improving and learning how to play safely! He is potty trained but does not have free range of the house yet because he still has occasional accidents.

He sometimes gets overstimulated after dinner and we have found putting him in his crate for a post-dinner nap helps a lot!

Osa LOVES to be outside. One of his favorite activities is sitting on our front steps, watching the world go by, listening to the birds, and observing neighbors going by. He would LOVE to have a back yard he can run and sniff around in!

When applying to adopt one of our puppies, please remember :

Up to the age of 8 months old, puppies cannot be left alone for a standard 8-9 work day.

Arrangements will have to be in place for 4 hour intervals until the pups are at least 8 months old.

Having someone with them every 4 hours until they are older greatly facilitates the housebreaking process as well as assists with the general

socialization

of your pup !

If you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our

online application

at www.allshepherdrescue.com. Our adoption fee is $350.00

Name: Osa
Gender: Male
Age: 12 weeks (born Dec 15th)
Parents: Father is a Shepherd, mother is a Collie. I am including a photo of his dad.
