Orion's Story

Eleven-year-old Orion is sadly in need of a new home due to a military transfer out of the country. His family is heartbroken to make this decision, but they know that at his age, such a big international move would be too stressful for him. Now, they are hoping to find him a peaceful, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by comfort and care.

Orion is a gentle, quiet boy with a soft heart and so much love to give. He's the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much just a cozy place to rest and someone to share it with. He enjoys snuggles, tasty treats, and simply being near his people. If he's allowed to sleep in the bed with you, he happily will, but he's just as content resting peacefully on the floor nearby, always close enough to feel connected.

He has been raised with both children and a cat and has done well with them. Orion does get nervous in certain situations, especially with loud or sudden noises such as thunder, heavy traffic, car rides, and the shower. During these moments, he may feel unsure, but he remains a sweet and gentle boy through it all.

Orion is looking for a forever home where he can relax, feel secure, and be deeply loved for the rest of his life.

If you are interested in meeting Orion, please visit our website and submit an adoption application today.

https://www.seniordogsanctuary.com/adoption-application.html

Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland's Adoption Policy
Why adopt a Senior Dog? Experienced, housebroken, settled down, loving and lovable, good with children, excellent company, non-judgemental - we could go on but you get the picture. Exceptions to everything listed? Sure, but all in all an experience you will never regret. First, come visit the dogs that interest you; we are open, by appointment, every day of the week from 10-3. Then complete our Adoption Application, which asks for personal references, your animals' Vet, information about your home environment and your agreement to allow us to do a home visit. Once approved, we will do a meet and greet with your family - including your four-legged family members. If all goes well, you welcome your pup into your home and your heart and you all become members of our extended Senior Dog Sanctuary family!
