OREO - COURTESY LISTING's Story

Oreo is a 6-year-old male Border Collie, about 60 pounds, black and white with blue eyes. He is neutered, housebroken, crate trained, microchipped, and his shots are up to date. A genetic test on Oreo shows he comes from a long line of border collies!
He is sweet with people; he runs up and rolls on his back. He stays in the front yard and does not chase cars or people. He does not pull on leash. He is e-collar trained and listens off leash; a collar is optional unless he is off leash in public. He needs short training and play and is not a couch dog.
He likes balls and loves fetch. He does not nip and has never bitten. He is generally calm with dogs and is fine in a group kennel with outdoor play; he may herd a zooming dog. Cats are untried.
He'd do fine with children 10 or older, no toddlers, he gets excited and can bump little ones. He has no growling or biting history. He does not pace himself, so he should not be overexerted in the heat; give him water and encourage rest.

Owners are rehoming Oreo because they are expecting a baby in December, and because Oreo already gets excited around young children they feel it's better he can go to a home where Oreo gets the attention he deserves.
Oreo is located in Raleigh NC. If you are interested in adopting Oreo you can fill out a Courtesy Listing application at https://www.arcbcr.org/cl-adoption-application-1

ARCBCR courtesy lists dogs for individual owners, other rescues, and shelters wishing to place their Border Collies or Border Collie-mixes themselves.

These dogs are NOT in the ARCBCR program. ARCBCR does not provide any type of warranty and we rely on the current care givers to provide accurate information on all courtesy listed dogs.

Should any issues arise, ARCBCR will not be held responsible.
