Oreo's Story

Meet Oreo!

Oreo is a handsome German Shorthaired Pointer mix, about 2–3 years old and around 55 pounds. He's neutered, fully vaccinated, crate trained, and doing wonderfully in his foster home.

Oreo is great with other dogs and absolutely loves having canine friends to play with. In fact, a home with another friendly, playful dog would be ideal for him! He enjoys running and playing in a fenced yard and has shown just how much confidence he can gain from having doggy friends around.

He's also a perfect car rider, rarely barks, and has been very well behaved in the house. No food aggression here—although he's not quite ready to take treats from your hand yet.

The biggest thing to know about Oreo is that he is very nervous and needs time to trust people. Once he gets to know you, his sweet personality comes out, and he loves being petted and playing.

Oreo is also a flight risk until he feels completely safe and bonded with his new family. His adopter will need to be extra cautious with doors, gates, leashes, and transitions while he learns that he is finally home. A securely fenced yard would be a huge plus.

Oreo may need a little patience at first, but underneath that nervousness is a playful, loving boy who just needs someone willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace.

If you're looking for a dog who can become your best friend—and who would love a canine sibling—Oreo might be your guy!
