Oreo's Story
Meet Oreo 🖤🤍
10 months old • Collie / Aussie mix • Gentle, goofy, and full of potential

Oreo is a beautiful young Collie/Aussie mix with a soft heart, fluffy black-and-white coat, and the kind of gentle expression that tells you he is still figuring out the world.

At just 10 months old, Oreo is still very much a puppy in many ways — playful, curious, goofy, and currently moving through that classic teenage stage where he is learning what good manners look like. He was found abandoned with his mother, and it is clear he did not grow up with the kind of steady human guidance young dogs normally receive. Even walking on a leash had to be taught from the beginning.

What is remarkable about Oreo is how naturally sweet he is despite that uncertain start.

He is:
• wonderful with dogs of all sizes
• no food aggression
• potty trained
• gentle and social
• quiet in the home
• comfortable around farm animals
• naturally interested in herding and outdoor life

Oreo has a soft, easy nature and truly wants to do well. Because he is still an adolescent and awaiting neuter, he can sometimes be mouthy or humpy in typical teenage-dog fashion, but these are very normal, manageable behaviors that are already improving with structure, consistency, and maturity.

He does not need perfection — he needs someone willing to continue teaching him what life as a loved family dog looks like.

Oreo would thrive in a home that offers:
• patience
• routine
• basic continued training
• understanding of herding-breed intelligence and energy
• ideally another friendly dog, since he enjoys canine companionship

He is the kind of dog who has all the ingredients to become an exceptional companion: sweetness, intelligence, gentleness, and a genuine desire to connect.

For the right person, Oreo is not just a puppy — he is a dog you get to help fully bloom into who he was always meant to be 🤍

In foster: Davis, CA
Adoption Donation: $250 includes neuter, vaccinations, & chip

Interested in adopting?
1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application
2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call!
3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home

Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time.

Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue &
Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more!

Email coordinators@heartsforpawsrescue.com or info@heartsforpawsrescue.com
