Opie

Opie is no fan of the boring play pen where he has been residing since arriving at the shelter. He wants to be busy -- with people. Since his owner passed away, he had been sharing his current space with his companion Wilma, who was recently adopted, but he really wants to hit the road with a new family. <br/><br/>Opie tends to get excited and barks in the presence of other dogs, despite having lived almost his whole life with at least 3 other dogs. He loves to go for walks, to roll belly-up on the grass, to sniff out varmints and to be the object of affection. <br/><br/>At just 26 lbs., he is very friendly and easy to walk and will keep a senior person active and engaged. Just like the others from his home, he has the lumps and bumps, semi-foggy eyes, not that many teeth and the common health issues that come with age, yet he still has years to provide sweet companionship to a new family. <br/><br/>You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment.
