Opie's Story

**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

Hi guys! Hey, down here! Look down! It's me, Opie! I'm just a little guy so I hope my forever family doesn't overlook me I am a 1.5 year old 16 pound chiweenie mix of some sort, and although my name is Opie, I will answer to munchkin, teeny tiny man, small jelly bean boy, or pretty much anything if it means you're giving me attention and love. I was found as a stray down south so this whole being in a home thing is just my favorite thing ever!! I appear to be house trained and settle down in my crate after just a few minutes of crying (because why did you leave me to go to the grocery store that's messed up!!). I walk very well on leash with a harness and can keep up with my doggy foster siblings which is very impressive for a pipsqueak like me! I may have an itty bitty body but every square inch of it is packed with LOVE! I just want to be held or in your lap or giving one of my famous snuggles at all times. I'm just the perfect mix of loving without being clingy because I am able to settle on my own as well! I love being around other dogs and do enjoy chasing them when we play, but am not all over them and am very content to simply coexist with them, so I'd be great in a home with or without other dogs - I'm just that easy!

If you're in the mood for a small, low-maintenance, loving little weenie boy, I'm your man!!! Submit an application for me today so we can get to snuggling ASAP.

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
