Opal's Story
Spayed Female
1 Year Old
50 Pounds
$175

Opal is a sweet, silly, and affectionate young dog who absolutely loves her people. She is a big cuddler who enjoys both exercise and relaxing on the couch with her family. Opal is crate trained and her crate can come with her if needed. She does very well with children and people and has a fun, loving personality that makes her a joy to be around.

Opal would likely do best as the only dog or with someone experienced in managing dog relationships, as she has shown food aggression toward other dogs involving human food. She has lived with a cat and may be able to do well with cats if properly supervised and trained. She is still finishing up her house training and will need continued consistency and patience. Opal’s owner is dedicated to finding the best possible fit so she can truly thrive in a loving home.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm

Saturday: Noon – 4 pm

I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
