Onyx's Story
Meet Onyx!

Where are our senior dog lovers at? Because this senior girl is PERFECT 💜

Onyx is about twelve years old and she's a pretty standard size for a shih tzu at around 9lbs. Do NOT let her age fool you because Onyx has so much sass and spunk that she's easily mistaken for a dog half her age.

While Onyx isn't too high energy and isn't in a constant state of chaos zoomies, she still definitely loves to play. Her favorite toys at the moment are human hands but she'll settle for plush toys if she has to. She's all about the play fighting - she'll hop at your hands and give little growls or drop into a play bow before mouthing at your hands. She LOVES her walks but make sure you have the time and the patience because she's a professional lollygagger and will make you stop and smell EVERY rose whether you like it or not.

She's a social girl that loves being with people and would make a great addition to your garden club, knitting circle, or mahjong club.

Onyx does well with other dogs, though we wouldn't place her with dogs much larger than her for safety reasons. She's also healthily wary of cats so would do fine with them. We would prefer kids 12+ - not because she is aggressive but because we don't have a history on her so aren't sure how she would be with smaller kids. She does have a heart murmur so will need regular vet visits and an EKG to stay on top of it. Other than that, there have been no major health issues noticed.

To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application.
