Onyx's Story
Looking for endless happy and good boy energy...we have it for you! Onyx is truly a story of second chances. As just a tiny pup, Onyx and his 3 siblings were surrendered to an overfull, high rate euthanasia animal control facility. They were part of a litter of 8, but because they were black and black and white, they were discarded. Onyx lived at animal control with his siblings for 2 months before ending up on the euthanasia list due to space. We heard about them and couldn't let that happen.

At around 4 months old and 30lbs, Onyx is finally FREE! He's learning what it's like to live life outside of a chain link kennel, to have soft dog beds and endless toys. He now has constant human affection and direction. Yes, Onyx missed out on early training but this boy is incredibly smart and proving to us just how much he wants to learn and please! After only a short time in his foster home, he is quickly settling into the routine. He is doing great in his crate and mastering potty training! He rides wonderfully in the car and is doing great on a leash. With continued training and humans who love him, Onyx will be an amazing family dog!

Despite his slow start, he is very confident and curious! He is eager to explore and wants to make new friends everywhere! He literally exudes happiness! When he's done chasing his favorite toys around, he loves to cuddle up right next to his person. He adores humans and trusts them completely...even after everything. He LOVES playing with other dogs and learning the ropes from them. He would love to have another canine buddy in his new home to romp with on the regular. He's still just a puppy so gets excited about, well, anything really but loves children and would like cats to want to play with him more. :-) He is the cutest, fluffiest guy with so much to offer!

We believe Onyx is an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. His adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, vaccines, dewormings and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His puppyhood has been one of loneliness and begging for someone to give him a chance. We are so glad we could be his chance! Now, he's on the hunt for the humans who want to fulfill his dreams: a forever home and family! If you're interested in meeting this adorable dude, reach out to us!
