At around 60 pounds, he's all puppy charm wrapped in a strong, handsome package and he's just as sweet as he is striking. Omar is deaf, but don't let that fool you this boy is incredibly tuned in to the world around him. He's learned that communication comes in many forms, especially treats (his favorite language). Thanks to two months of professional board and train, Omar has made tremendous progress and continues to show just how smart and eager he is to learn. He has that classic puppy energy but settles relatively quickly, making him a wonderful match for a calmer household. While he enjoys other dogs, Omar is unique in that he's also perfectly content being your one and only, something that's fairly rare for deaf pups. Very active or chaotic dog play can overstimulate him, so he thrives best with mellow canine friends or solo living. Omar loves both indoor and outdoor time and is always happy when his toys are nearby. His personality is a perfect mix of playful goofball and affectionate companion. He's house trained, crate trained and enjoys structure and routine. Because Omar cannot hear, it's important that his family understands how to interact gently, especially avoiding startling him while he's sleeping. With thoughtful handling and consistency, he does beautifully.
