Olympia's Story

The Olympics may be over (with a stunning GOLD for our US Hockey Team!) but Miss Olympia is still available to bring some gold of her own to a new family! All of her "teammates" aka siblings have found permanent addresses of their own, and Olympia is patiently waiting her turn. Could you be the very lucky winner of this special girl? We hope so! Olympia has been spayed, vetted, microchipped, and received a clean bill of health from our vet. Please read on for her story, and for instructions on how to request an application for her!
"
Here is what we know about OLYMPIA:

- Olympia is about 5 months old now, and weighs around 40lbs. to date.

- Olympia is a gorgeous black and white pyr mix pup - she was the smallest of her sibling group but we still think she would grow into a large-ish lady, 65+ lbs or so when full grown. We did DNA testing on one of her brothers, and while the pyr genes dominated, these sweet girl is also made up of bloodhound, border collie, German shepherd, and lab! You can totally tell where she gets her good looks and intelligence from!

- Olympia and her siblings were born into rescue and have been receiving lots of TLC as they grow. She is a happy, healthy, and rambunctious pup who will need a family up to the fun challenges of puppyhood!

- Olympia is very smart but is very much still a puppy so she will need lots of training and reinforcements to learn proper doggy manners and behavior when she gets to her forever home. Breed research is a must as pyr's can be stubborn, so her new family should definitely be informed of typical breed traits.

- Olympia is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has received a clean bill of health.

- Olympia currently lives happily in her foster home withother dogs and gets along just fine with them. We think she would do fine as an only dog or with a playmate who could handle some puppy playtime!

- There are also cats in Olympia's foster home, and she co-habits well with them. Any dog savvy cats who wouldn't be scared of her size or puppy antics should be fine!

- Due to her breed makeup and size, Olympia would make a great family dog for kids 8+. Olympia is fun and playful, but any young children would need to know how to respect doggy boundaries, especially while he is still a puppy.

- Due to the strong pyr presence and size, Olympia probably wouldn't be a good fit for apartment living. She has a large fenced in yard at foster mom's house, where she loves to roam and patrol like all pyr's do. As such, we are searching for a perfect homes for this fantastic pup that has plenty of yard for her to roam and grow in.

What we love about Olympia: She is a champion in her own right!

Is Olympia the one for you? If so, she's got her doggie bags packed and is ready to make her way home to you! Her adoption fee is $500! That covers all of her vetting and care up until the point of adoption.

If interested, please reach out to Brittany at Brittany.pacne@gmail.com and she will break down the adoption process for you and send you an application link!

*Paws & Claws New England, a/k/a Paws and Claws Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization made up of volunteers and fosters who devote their time and love to help save homeless dogs and cats.
