Ollie: Your Easygoing, Cuddle-Ready Companion

Ollie is exactly the furry bundle of joy he looks like.<br/><br/>At 3-years-old, this Cockapoo mix arrived at Associated Humane Societies in Newark, NJ in early 2026, after being picked up as a stray. He has done wonderfully in the shelter environment, getting his weight up to a healthy 26 pounds, and earning a reputation for his quiet demeanor and excellent leash manners. <br/><br/>Ollie loves a good walk and was even eager to play in the snow this winter. While he's a little timid at first, he opens up quickly, according to the shelter staff who cared for him. He really likes the company of both people and other dogs. And treats, of course. <br/><br/>Easygoing Ollie seems to fit in wherever he goes. He's an easygoing guy—taking everything in stride. That's exactly what we saw as we met him and brought him to his foster family, where he is now staying<br/><br/>Ollie's foster home is with a loving family and two small resident dogs. Although they're a bonded pair from another rescue organization, the two senior males have graciously made room for Ollie—sharing both their couch space and attention from his foster mom without hesitation. Their quick acceptance is truly a testament to Ollie's relaxed energy. <br/><br/>Our foster reported that within minutes of him arriving at her home, Ollie was already part of the crew. At any given moment, all three of them are likely enjoying a neighborhood stroll together or a snooze in the living room. Ollie reportedly likes to play with his toys but seems to enjoy repurposing his plushies as nap accessories even more. <br/><br/>Because his past is largely unknown, we’re not sure how Ollie would do with cats or young children.
