Ollie's Story

Ollie is a 2-3-year-old Shepherd mix who perfectly balances adventure buddy and cuddlebug. At 40 pounds, he's big enough to join you on long walks and outdoor fun, but perfectly content to curl up next to you on the couch afterward. He's happiest when he's near his people.

He was quiet and subdued his first couple of days in foster care, cuddling almost immediately, and grew more playful and confident as he settled in. He's fully house trained and hasn't had any accidents in his foster home. Ollie knows "kennel" and will head right into his crate, though he's done well when left out and content to nap for hours.

Ollie is great with other dogs and gets very excited when he sees them out and about. He does not have experience with cats or with children, so a proper introduction is recommended.

This boy has high energy and will need more than just a quick stroll around the block. Multiple daily walks are recommended, and a fenced yard will be required in his future home to meet his energy needs. His favorite activity is running free and sniffing everything in sight, but also enjoys puzzle toys to keep his smart mind busy. He loves soft or crinkly toys (fair warning: they may not survive long), and he'll happily chase a tennis ball -- he just hasn't quite grasped the concept of bringing it back.

Ollie is the kind of dog who will run with you by day and curl up close by night. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
