Ollie's Story
A060979 Ollie; neutered male Queensland Heeler mix; est. age 4 months ; 19.6 lbs
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
(209)754-6509
Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

Ollie radiates a special, calm sweetness in spite of being just a youngster. He's a generally mellow guy. He does like to play, chase toys, and act like a silly goober sometimes, but is not mouthy or overwhelmingly energetic as some puppies can be. And although he was initially rather scared of being on leash, he learned quickly that getting on his collar and leash means it's time for outside walkies and play. He does a beautiful sit already, accepts treats oh-so-gently, and will probably take well to a training routine.

If Ollie has one foible, that would be his mischievous enjoyment of a rousing game of door dash. He'll make a slippery break for outdoor playtime if we don't keep an eye on him. Some extra care in containing him will be important for his safety in his new home.

Ollie is an affectionate boy who will snuggle into your lap for cuddles and belly rubs or a nice nap. He's interested in meeting new people, with only a little shyness at first about the big ol' world full of strange new things. He is quickly gaining in confidence as we introduce him around. He's very interested in meeting other dogs, watching them with intent curiosity. Only from a safe distance, though. We've not yet allowed him to interact closely with other dogs in order to protect his health till he's fully vaccinated.

What we know about Ollie's genetics indicate that he will likely be moderately sized when grown—easily portable and good for snuggles. And he's already so handsome! We love his honey-colored coat and stylish speckled socks, not to mention those soft, caramel eyes that melt our hearts.

Ollie promises to be a delightful addition for a home in search of a sweet, mellow puppy. He's quiet in his kennel and already keeps it clean; though we can't make guarantees he'll likely be easy to housetrain. We do not know his attitude toward cats at this time.

Please come pick up Ollie to assure oodles of summer fun and affectionate puppy kisses!
