Ollie's Story

This dude is a hundred-and-some-odd pound lovable goofball wrapped in a very large dog suit. Ollie is for the people who dream of ranch life, this guy is basically a low budget horse with the emotional needs of a golden retriever and the problem-solving skills of a raccoon.

This handsome giant is powered almost entirely by human attention. His newest trick is turning staff and volunteers into doggo charging stations by standing directly between your legs while you’re trying to walk, or clean, and using you as a personal scratching post/electricity conductor. His absolute favorite hobby. Ollie does not believe in personal space, he believes his space is on top of a person.

When it comes to other dogs, Ollie is pretty easygoing, as long as everyone respects his bubble. He’s happy to coexist and do his own thing, especially with calm canine companions who understand that sometimes a guy just wants to vibe in peace. We’re still figuring out how he feels about cats, so his feline opinions are currently “to be determined.”

Now, we do need to discuss Ollie’s greatest talent: escaping containment. This boy has treated kennel security like a full-time engineering internship. Door Cables? Solved. Latches? Outsmarted. Cinder blocks blocking the doorway? No big deal for this muscle man! If there’s a weakness in the plan, Ollie will eventually discover it with the determination of a dog who simply believes the outdoors belongs to him.

He’d thrive somewhere with room to stretch those long legs and live his best giant-dog life. A hobby farm or acreage would be amazing! Or a large-dog house with the opportunity to go on the trails, have backwoods adventures with a family who enjoys exploring! Ollie is the kind of dog who looks like he should be pulling a wagon through the countryside while carrying everyone’s snacks, but is secretly hoping you have those extra kibblies stashed in your pocket!

Underneath all his silliness is a deeply friendly, affectionate boy who just wants love, freedom to roam responsibly, and maybe the opportunity to stand directly on your feet while you pet him.

If your ideal companion is a shedding, oversized comedian, and mildly concerning escape artist, Ollie is ready to make your family a whole lot bigger, because he takes up most of the hallway.
