Ollie's Story

Meet Ollie! 🐾
Ollie may be 7 years old (born 11/24/2018), but don’t tell him that—this 20-pound Toy Aussie still has the energy and enthusiasm of a much younger pup. He recently joined NTASR after his family made the difficult but loving decision to surrender him. Living in a home with large Great Danes put Ollie at risk of being accidentally injured, so finding him a safer environment was the best choice for everyone.

Ollie is an energetic, confident, and playful boy who LOVES fetch. He’ll happily chase his toys with enthusiasm until he’s ready to recharge—then he’s content to settle nearby on the couch with his person. While he isn’t especially snuggly and doesn’t enjoy being picked up or held, he does like being close to his human after playtime and will keep you company from a comfortable distance.

He has not shown much interest in other dogs in the home, and overall leans more independent than social with canine housemates. Ollie has done well with kids, including a 12-year-old, and enjoys calm companionship in the home. He gets along well with cats and has lived with them previously. He is crate trained, sleeps in his crate at night, and is comfortable staying crated when his humans are away. He is also potty trained and walks well on a leash.

Adventurous, athletic, curious, goofy, and gentle—Ollie is the perfect mix of playful energy and easygoing independence. He doesn’t need constant handling or attention, just a person to bond with, a toy to chase, and a cozy spot nearby when the day winds down.

If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who loves fetch more than fuss and companionship more than chaos, Ollie might just be your guy. ā¤ļø
