Ollie's Story
You sent
Meet Ollie -- The Dog Who Turned Himself In at the Fire Station

Ollie didn't just get rescued... he rescued himself. This smart boy walked straight into a fire station when he was lost, politely "turning himself in" and earning a safe ride to us -- along with a whole crew of firefighters who instantly fell in love with him. Now, after 12 weeks in our shelter, he's more than ready for a home of his own.

Ollie is about 21⁄2 years old, weighs 46 pounds, and appears to be an Australian Kelpie-Border Collie mix. He has all the intelligence of those breeds without being overly intense. He reads people beautifully, learns quickly, and loves being part of whatever his humans are doing.

Ollie gets along well with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. He can be a little bit of a micro-manager with his canine friends -- the kind of dog who wants everyone playing nicely and following the "rules." He's not bossy; he just likes keeping the peace. Based on his temperament, we believe he could also cohabitate with cats with proper introductions and supervision.

This boy is wonderfully versatile:
* House-trained
* Crate-trained
* Great on a leash
* Not overly high-energy -- he can enjoy a hike just as easily as he can chill on the couch

Ollie is fully vetted, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and ready to go home today. He is steady, affectionate, smart, and sweet -- truly the kind of dog who blends into a home and makes life better just by being there.

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an unforgettable rescue story, Ollie is your guy.
