Like many Australian Shepherds, he thrives when given a job to do and loves showing off his tricks (including dancing on his back legs!). He's food motivated, enjoys training, picks up new skills quickly, and has excellent impulse control when working with his person. Oliver truly wants to make the right choice and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement, making him an incredibly rewarding companion for someone who enjoys building a partnership with their dog.<br/><br/>Oliver is also a sensitive soul who thrives in a calm, predictable environment. Overly rambunctious dogs, fast-moving young children, or unexpected approaches can make him feel overwhelmed. Rather than escalating situations, Oliver has shown that he naturally chooses to disengage, settles quickly with gentle guidance, and looks to his handler for reassurance. His ability to redirect himself and recover from exciting situations speaks volumes about his temperament.
