She walks well on a leash and loves to sit and watch the sights in the city, enjoying her walks in the 'burbs with equal interest. She is non-reactive to unfamiliar dogs and enjoys playing with others. Olive is crate trained through the night and after her first couple days is beginning to choose to take breaks in her crate during the day.<br/><br/>Olive loves older kids and all adults, though she needs a brief warm-up period with unfamiliar people. She is very interested in small kids at the playground but can be a little hesitant to meet them. So far she does well with dog-savvy children over the age of eight.<br/><br/>Olive sits for treats, and before going outside. She usually does not jump on people, and she has already decreased counter-surfing. Olive clearly prefers to do her business outside; she scurries when she needs to go rather than waiting by the door.<br/><br/>Probably the smartest dog I’ve met, Olive would be an ideal match for an active single owner, couple, or family.<br/><br/>Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
