Olive C 26108's Story

Olive will remain in the Recovery Room until cleared for adoption.

Enjoy a beautifully written bio by Olive's foster mom: Olive is the sweetest girland she is quickly becoming a very happy, playful, cuddly member of the family. Olive spends her days playing with toys, bringing them to us for a game of fetch, curling up nearby while we work, and sleeping close to us at night. She has discovered that she is homeand she seems pretty delighted about it.

Olive is wonderful with children, including our younger child who is still very much in the toddler stage. She is gentle, patient, and happy to be around all the activities of a family. She doesn't seem bothered by the constant presence of children's toys (she has not chewed anything but her own toys), either, which is especially impressive because Olive has a very important mission of her own: She must destroy every stuffed toy she can find. She loves chewing them, taking them apart, and leaving a trail of fluff behind. And when she's not conducting toy surgery, she'll bring you a toy and ask you to throw it. She could play fetch for hours.

Olive is also a big-time cuddle bug. Her coat is incredibly soft, and she loves curling up beside you on the couch. She is happiest when her people are nearby. She'll happily spend the day snoozing in her dog bed while we work, then spring to life when the kids come home and it's time to play. She's a pretty quiet girl, too. It took us several days to hear her bark! She does make the cutest little excited noises when she's chewing a toy or trying to convince you that it is absolutely time for another game of fetch.

Olive is still learning about the world. She doesn't seem to have had much experience walking on a leash but she's learning and improving. She's sometimes timid when she encounters a new noise or something unfamiliar. Her response, though, is wonderful: she gets a little cautious, then gets curious and goes to investigate. Even the vacuum cleaner eventually became something she needed to come over and inspect. Every walk she is quite excited! She's also doing beautifully with house training. She's still figuring out our dog door and can be hesitant about going through doors, so she sometimes stands at the threshold and takes a moment to decide that the outside world is worth investigating. And bath time? Olive wasn't overly excited, but she handled it like a champ. No escape attemptsjust a very tolerant little girl who seemed to think she'd humor us.

Olive is a gentle, affectionate dog who is learning that the world is a safe and interesting place. And in return, you get a ridiculously soft cuddle buddy, a fetch enthusiast, and a dog who is very serious about her career as a stuffed-toy surgeon.

Olive's perfect home would have a yard to explore, stuffed toys to destroy and little children who dote on her!
