Oklahoma's Story

Hi, I’m Oklahoma. My foster family calls me Oki. I am a lover and a snuggler. One of my favorite places is on the couch next to my person. I am also a quirky guy. I grumble when I don’t like what I am being told or if I don’t feel like being bothered at the moment. I am excellent at communicating with my family both human and canine and it makes me happy that they respect my space when I ask. I am great in a crate although I don’t need one since I am house trained and I don’t chew things. I love to yank the stuffing out of my toys. I also love car rides and going for walks. With all of these wonderful traits, I have one small flaw, and that is that I can’t live with cats. I have a prey drive that makes me want to taste them! I love children but should live with older children that understand my language. I have allergies that make me really itchy if I don’t get my Apoquel every day but on the bright side I love to get my pill pocket treat! I would really love a family or person of my own.

His adoption fee is $200. He is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.
All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. Adopt A Pit Rescue's Adoption Policy
If you are interested in one of our fine furry friends, please fill out the adoption application at http://www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs, so please do not email us asking when/where you can meet an adoptable dog. We do not have a shelter location and we absolutely will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. A vet and landlord check (if applicable) is completed on every submitted application. Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a home visit with the adoptable dog. Please keep in mind that we are volunteer run and we all have lives, families and pets of our own, so it may take up to 2 weeks to hear back from us, depending upon the volume of applications we are handling, the ability to reach your vet and/or landlord, and whether the information you provided is accurate/complete. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can email us for more information.
