Ojin's Story

My name is Ojin and Im looking for my forever home. Im 3 y.o. and a big, handsome, goofy, laid-back hunk of LOVE! No really, foster mom says so! Im a very good boy too! I came to my foster home near St. Louis from a commercial breeding facility. I wasnt sure what to think at first. When I first got here there were lots of scary explosion noises. Foster mom said I didnt have to worry about the fireworks, but I still dont believe her. So, when they strapped a harness around me and attached me to a leash and brought me outside, I wasnt having it. Nope! It took a little practice, but now I am a pro at going for walks in the neighborhood. I have learned to wait patiently for my Milkbone after we come home. My favorite spot in the house is the nice comfy nest I made under foster moms bed. I picked it out myself and its where I hang out and snooze. I collect toys from around the house and bring them there (to hide them from the bossy Shiba who also lives here). I dont need to be crated when my foster family goes out. I never get into trouble or have potty accidents. Im pretty easy-going. I like routine... and snacks! And I love a Nylabone to chew. Im a healthy boy neutered and vaccinated. I was pretty overweight when I first got here, but Im slimming down nicely (down from 60 lbs to j54 so far) with a combination of portion control and those neighborhood walks. Foster mom thinks Id adapt well to a variety of different home settings. Im good with other dogs (I let the bossy Shiba who lived here first have her way). There are kittens here in my foster home and Im curious about them. Im pretty shy with people I dont know, but once I trust you, I will give you lots of kisses! I havent met very many little kids just seen some on walks. Id adapt well to a home with other animals. Im kind-of a born side-kick. So if you live in the Midwest and are looking for a sweet, mellow dude to be your best buddy, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt for more information and to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA make sure well be a good match. Once approved SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet!
