Oinkey's Story

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about Oinkey’s history since he was found tied to a doorob and abandoned outside of one of our partner hospitals. In fact, we don’t even know the name that this cutie pie has gone by his entire life since he didn’t earn the name Oinkey until he was brought to the shelter with kennel cough and made noises that sounded like the oink of a pig.

After spending some time in an NYC shelter, Oinkey was brought to us for treatment of a severe skin infection, and bad cough. Thanks to the diligent care and lots of love from our team, he’s finished with his treatment, fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready for his forever home!

Oinkey hasn’t let the trauma of being abandoned stop him from loving life. He loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and going on walks (he’s great on leash unless he spots a new friend to play with!). He gets along well with playful dogs and would thrive in a home where he can have fun but also be a couch potato.

While Oinkey is a goofy, loving boy, his late-in-life neuter has resulted in a bad habit of mounting that may take some time to break. He will respond to proper correction but he will definitely let you know he is not happy with the discipline by talking back.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with lots of love (and a little sass) to give, Oinkey is your guy!
