10/21/25- Pauhaska x Eyota. No MC DH ***** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW ***** Intact male ~1 yr old 60 pounds Vaccines given 10-22-25 No microchip ALT ID# 10-21-25 19 Intake notes - Anxious, needs training, walks on leash, did well for kennel mate intro but still anxious (kennel mate: Doberman) Behavior Notes - Has done well with 2 different kennelmates one of each gender. Walks well on leash but is reactive to some dogs not all, can be pet head to tail. Appears very anxious; as he did not stop pacing, jumping on the walls, and marking on walls as well. *****Animals are eligible for adoption by the public after their stray hold period. Rescues are permitted to pull on 10/28/25; animal is also legally available for euthanasia on this same date. AVAS will continue to follow the protocols in place for the health/safety of the animals in our care. The canine population currently in our care that are not showing symptoms will be posted on our website for public viewing. Canines will continue to be monitored by our medical staff under the direction of our supervising Veterinarian. Apple Valley Animal Services's Adoption Policy
An adoption application is filled out and approved. Potential adopters meet with the pet/pets they are interested in. If they have pets that can be brought into the shelter for a "meet & greet" with the shelter animal we encourage that to ensure there shouldn't be any major incidents and the pets can cohabitate peacefully. Once the adoption paperwork is completed the adopted pet receives a rabies vaccine and microchip prior to going home with the adopter of being sent for alteration.
