Yes, but please keep in mind that they must be taught to respect the dog’s space, belongings, and food.
• HOUSEBROKEN? NOT 100% YET. As a dog rescued off the street and transitioning from living on indoor tile/ outdoor dirt surfaces in Mexico, they'll need time and patience to adjust to a new environment, but most of our dogs adapt to a potty routine within 1-2 weeks with consistent training.

🐾 Meet Odie 🐾

A month or two ago, Odie was just another street dog—abandoned with his mom and siblings, scavenging for food, dodging traffic, never knowing where he'd sleep that night. When rescuers found them, Odie was a bundle of nervous energy, bouncing around, barking, unable to settle. Life on the streets does that to a young dog—keeps you wired, always on alert.

Here's what's remarkable about Odie: he's exactly the same dog now. Still bouncy, still vocal, still bursting with energy. Except now? He's channeling all that into pure, unfiltered joy.

"He's just so happy," his foster mom says, laughing. "Despite everything he went through, he wakes up every day like it's the best day of his life. The other morning he found a stick in the yard and paraded it around for twenty minutes like he'd discovered treasure."

Some dogs shut down after trauma. Odie decided life is too good to waste being sad about the past. He's living proof that resilience can look like wagging tails and muddy paws and absolute chaos in the best possible way.

Odie is active—the kind of dog who'd happily join you on a hike, chase a frisbee until you're both exhausted, race around the backyard with his canine siblings until someone calls a truce. His favorite game is fetch, and he takes it very seriously. Throw a ball and he's off like a shot, that scruffy body low to the ground, ears flying back. He'll bring it back, drop it at your feet, and immediately go into a play bow, ready for round two.

He's also wonderfully social with other dogs. He still lives with his mom and siblings, and they spend hours playing together in the garden—wrestling, chasing, stealing each other's toys. "He just loves having his family around," his foster says. "He's so playful with them, never aggressive, just wants to have fun."

On walks, Odie gets excited when he sees other dogs and will bark—it's a mix of "Hey! Friend! Come play with me!" and a little bit of anxiety from his street days. But he never escalates, never gets aggressive. With some training and confidence-building, he'd likely settle right down.

Cats, though? Not his thing. He'll chase them, and he's made it clear they're not welcome in his space. He needs a cat-free home where he doesn't have to worry about feline housemates.

Odie is also good with kids—patient with their energy, gentle despite his bouncy personality. He's the kind of dog who'd be thrilled to have children to play with in the yard.

What Odie needs is an active family who can match his enthusiasm for life. Someone who wants a hiking buddy, a fetch partner, a dog who'll make them laugh every single day with his goofy antics. He'd do wonderfully as your adventure companion if you're ready to give him all your attention.

After spending his whole life just trying to survive, Odie's ready to thrive. He's got so much love to give, so much energy to share, so much joy just waiting for the right person to come along.

Are you ready for a dog who'll remind you every single day that life is better when you choose happiness—even when the world hasn't always been kind to you?

*************************

📝 Ready to apply?
