October (Toby for short)'s Story

Meet October - aka Toby!

Toby is a 6-year-old, 63 lb. Pittie/Boerboel mix girl who needs a new home as soon as she can find one. She’s currently living in a stressful, unsettled environment, but she’s expected to thrive in a secure, stable home with no other animals and no kids under the age of 11. (She did live with older kids previously and did great with them.)

She’s a very sweet girl with people she knows, and she warms up to new people pretty easily if they give her treats and let her warm up to them at her own pace.

She loves pets and cuddles, hiking, sniffaris and long walks. She loves to play Tug and is very food-motivated.

Toby has gotten a lot of good training in basic obedience and leash skills, and she did very well with positive reinforcement training. She also has been trained in agility, parkour and nosework — searching for birch, anise and clove essential oils. She knows pattern games, Look At That, emergency U-turns, and knows an “over” cue for moving to the side of a trail to let other dogs and people pass.

Her person says she could be a good dog for adopter(s) who want an only dog, who are interested in keeping up Toby’s clicker training and dabbling in nosework.

For more info and/or to apply to adopt Toby, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
