Obi-Wan's Story

Greetings from a guy so handsome we think he might have come from another planet! Our Obi might not be a Jedi Master yet, but we think he's pretty gifted at stealing hearts! The minute you meet this dude, you feel the Force and we know he will capture his new family's undying love and affection quickly!

Obi came to us when his owner made the difficult decision to offer him a better life and find him a family that could give him all the mental and physical attention he deserves. Obi is currently 11 months old and spent a good portion of his puppyhood with his canine brother while his human was working long days. Being 1/2 Poodle, 1/4 Lab and 1/4 Husky and still under a year old, Obi has energy to burn and wants to engage with his people and keep his mind busy. While we wouldn't consider him a high energy dog, he definitely needs physical and mental stimulation to keep him balanced, focused and happy. He would be such a wonderful hiking partner, walking buddy or playmate for another young dog. Obi has the most amazing coat with minimal shedding, but he will need routine grooming.

Obi can be a little shy initially with new people but give him a little reassurance and 1/2 a day and he's your new best friend! Once you're in his circle, you're in it for life! Obi is getting a refresh on basic training but is already potty trained. He was initially crate trained, but not crated often. He is relearning the comforts of having his own, safe space to be when his foster isn't home. Obi LOVES other dogs and gets a lot of confidence from having another canine to follow around. While we think he would love to be the center of attention in his new home, he would also do really well with just about any dog who would want a buddy. Obi is rather indifferent to cats and hasn't shown much interest in them. We think with a dog loving cat, he'd find a friend quickly. Obi is doing well with leash training. Once he is bonded to his person, his recall is fantastic and he rarely was on a leash in his previous home. The biggest thing Obi is working on is his excitement when his humans come home. He likes to show how truly thrilled he is by jumping up and while we appreciate his enthusiasm, at 65lbs it's not our preferred greeting. Obi is a fast learner and incredibly smart. He will adjust quickly when he has consistency, love and attention in his new home!

Obi's adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, vaccines, heartworm/tick borne illness testing, deworming and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. If you're looking for an out of this world, forever best friend, reach out to us about our handsome guy, Obi-Wan!

Save Them All Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
All adopters are required to complete an adoption application. In order for an adoption application to be approved, we require all pets in the home to be up to date on core vaccines (distemper and rabies) as well as flea, tick, and heartworm preventative. We do our best to match each animal with their perfect family. While some adopters may apply for a certain animal, they may not be the right fit for that animal's needs. We work closely with our adopters and want to act as a resource after adoption to make sure all transitions go smoothly.
