08/13/26 17:19 Looking for your next companion? Well look no further! Let me introduce you to Oat! Oat is an almost 2 year old sweet heart that came to our shelter in early May. When he got here, Oat was pretty weary of new people and was showing signs of kennel frustration. But since having time to decompress Oat has been a star! He is often seen sitting quietly at the front of his kennel, hoping that the next person who walks by will the one to take him home. HE is in our play groups and has a push and pull playstyle. Oat has made visible improvements and we want to keep that way! Oat is doing his best to be a good boy and he is showing us everyday. Help Oat be the bestest boy he can ever dream of being by coming in today! The sooner he gets adopted, the sooner he can stop experincing the stress of the shelter environment. Will you be the one to be Oat's new best firend? 07/19/26 10:36 What did we do on today’s adventure:<br/> Today we went on a hike to Quicksilver park. We went about 4 miles on<br/>the trail with lots of people and other dogs. Oat did a great job and was <br/>very easy to walk.<br/> What should potential adopters know about me: <br/>- Oat is a very sweet shepherd mix. He was friendly upon initial<br/> meeting and allowed me to harness him up without any problems.<br/> - Oat did great in the car. He sat in the back and calmly looked out<br/> the window.<br/> - Oat has a lot of energy and did great on the hike. We went about<br/> 3-4 miles. He walked easily on my side with no pulling after we got <br/>his initial excitement out. He was very interested in smelling and<br/> lizards! When we stopped to rest and get water, he was not the dog<br/> to sit still. Very active and alert and interested in all the sounds<br/> and sites.<br/> - We passed several dogs on the hike. He was interested in a<br/> friendly way. His tail was wagging and his body language said he <br/>wanted to say hello. We passed several people and Oat took no<br/> notice. <br/>- Oat was easy to manage and alert. He seems like a very intelligent <br/>dog who probably needs more stimulation that what he is getting <br/>into the shelter. He is friendly and would make a great hiking <br/>buddy or companion for an active family. <br/>Three words to describe me: Friendly, curious, alert.
