Oakley is a young Cattle Dog mix who has found his way back to the shelter for the second time, and we’re really hoping his next home is his forever one.<br/><br/>At around a year old, Oakley is A LOT of dog in a small package! He is true to his Cattle Dog roots—smart, energetic, mouthy, intense, and always ready for something to do. He is also incredibly sweet, eager to please, and forms strong bonds with his people.<br/><br/>Oakley is the kind of dog who needs more than a couch and a couple of walks around the block. He needs lots of exercise, structure, training, and mental stimulation to keep his busy brain and busy body occupied. When he doesn't get enough of those things, he can become anxious, destructive, and generally a bit of a menace. 😅 He will need an owner who understands working breeds and is willing to give him the consistency and direction he needs to succeed.<br/><br/>Oakley does well with most other dogs and can absolutely be a fun, active companion for the right home. But make no mistake—he is not an easy, laid-back dog. He is looking for someone who knows what they're doing, enjoys training, and is ready to put in the work that comes with a young, high-drive Cattle Dog mix.<br/><br/>Oakley has so much potential. Underneath all that energy and chaos is a really sweet, loving dog who desperately needs someone willing to give him the life he was made for.
