Oakley's Story
We are helping Oakley's family find the perfect new home for her, she is currently located in Boston. Read her bio below, written by her family and learn all about this sweet girl! I will add some notes in parentheses from us (the Rescue) throughout the bio as needed.

Oakley is an incredibly sweet, loving 4.5-year-old bull terrier mix who weighs just under 50 pounds and is a total cuddle bug. At home with the people she trusts, she loves nothing more than being close to you, relaxing on the couch, and getting affection. She becomes very attached to her people and has so much love to give.

We recently welcomed a new baby into our family, and unfortunately Oakley has not adjusted well to the change. (Very common with dogs who have been with owners since puppies. It's hard to adjust to sharing attention, and the stress of crying, or running toddlers, etc can be overwhelming.)

Oakley has some anxiety (common with bull terriers) particularly outside the home and in unfamiliar or busy environments. She does best when she feels safe, comfortable, and has a predictable routine. We believe she would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with a fenced-in yard where she can run, play, and enjoy being outside without the stress of busy streets or frequent walks.

In the right environment, she is an incredibly affectionate and loyal companion who will happily spend her days curled up next to her person.

(It would be best for Oakly to be with a family/person that doesn't have small children or other pets, where she can soak up all the attention in a calm, quiet environment. She would thrive with someone who is familiar with bull terriers and their quirky, sometimes anxious behaviors and someone who has the time and patience to dedicate to her happiness!)

This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family. Oakley is deeply loved, and our priority is finding the right home for her, not simply finding her a new home.

We want to give her the best possible chance to feel secure and comfortable in her new environment.

We would love to find someone who can give Oakley the quieter lifestyle, space, patience, structure, and love that we believe will allow her to be her happiest self.

Please fill out our adoption application or email with any questions and we can connect you with her owner so you can learn more and set up a meet and greet!

Oakley's family will want to to have a few meetings so she can get to know her new family or person before officially leaving with them.

Our rescue never allows dogs to leave at the first meet and greet, and with rehoming situations like this we highly recommend several visits so she can get to know you and everyone can be sure it's the right fit!

https://airtable.com/appV5pXp3DhFrF6ih/shrx6XhGytB9TIrE6

pawsitiveconnection2023@gmail.com
